A homemade, non-motorised, beautifully ridiculous race down a Devon village hill. Here's the thinking.
The Idea
Soapbox derbies are a great British tradition: homemade, non-motorised carts racing down a hill, judged on speed, design and sheer audacity. They pull whole villages together for a joyful, daft, brilliant day out.
We think Stoke Fleming would be the perfect setting: a proper South Devon village, a hill that begs for it, and a community that knows how to put on a show. But before we take it to the Parish Council and County Council, we need to prove the appetite is there.
That's where you come in.

Picture it: bunting from end to end, a proper start gate, marshals in hi-vis, and the Green Dragon as the food, drink and beating heart of the event, with a parade of beautifully ridiculous homemade carts tearing down the hill to cheers from everyone you know.
